WOMEN’S HEALTH AND MOTHER EARTH:
The Invisible Costs Of Fossil Fuels
The panel discussion that follows the film screening highlights the disproportional affects that pollution has upon the health of women within these communities and the actions that grassroots activists within Northern New Jersey NOW, North Jersey Sierra Group, the Drew University Environmental Action League (DEAL) and the Ramapough-Lunappe Nation are taking to heal those most effected by the actions of corporate polluters. Donations will enable Northern NJ NOW to establish a fund to help low income women, indigenous women and women of color in industrialized communities pay for unmet healthcare costs and to support the Ramapough-Lunappe Nation in its struggle to clean up sacred lands polluted by the Ford Motor Company.
This event is inclusive, free to those who can’t afford it. For all others, suggested donations on a sliding scale of $15-100 are requested in lieu of a flat ticket price.
The donations collected will also support the film impact campaign “No More Sacrificed Communities” and be used to provide small honorariums to our panelists.
